Tips & Tricks for Children with ASD or New Swimmers

  •  Watch videos of swimming lessons before the first lesson!
  • Read books about swimming and/or lessons (my favorite is Froggy Learns to Swim)!
  • Practice blowing bubbles using bubbles or in the bathtub!
  • Practice getting face wet in the bathtub!
  • Children with ASD may benefit from wearing a wet suit, vest or tight rashguard shirt during lessons (provides deep pressure).
